Driver's Testimony

Come Home

"I can't tell you that if you repeat a prayer you will be saved or born again.  So I won't tell you to repeat a prayer or say some words that I have written down here for you to pray."

Chaplain Kerry of Truck Stop Ministry

This is a spinoff from Ray Comfort's message called; Hell's Best Kept Secret

Did you know that around 90% of people who repeat a prayer to follow Jesus Christ will fall away from the faith?  That is, modern evangelism with it non-scriptural method/message is resulting in converting around 10% of the people who repeat a prayer to follow Christ.

Can you tell that the message of the "Today's Modern Church" has forgotten almost all of the truly transforming points of the message Jesus preached.  Have you ever heard of Jesus' transforming message before?

The Apostles preached the same transforming message, and so did the great preachers of the past.

The Bible teaches us in Psalm 19:7 The Law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul...

What is it that is perfect and converts the soul?  It's the Law of the Lord that converts the soul and it is the Law that is perfect.

To make this meaningful to you I want to use the laws of the highways.
If I told you something like; "I have good news for you.  I paid your over weight limit fine!"

You would say; "What overweight fine?"  "I don't have any overweight fine!"

My good news to you wouldn't be good news to you at all, it would be foolishness.  In fact, it would be offensive to you because I am insinuating that you have broken the law when you don't think that you have.

But if I said it to you this way, it would make more sense to you:

"At a weight in motion location you were shown to be over weight by 15 tons.  There were 7 clear signs stating a weight limit of 25 tons.

This road's weight restrictions was because of the shallow underground flammable gas lines within the community.  But you drove on through with an overweight of 30,000 lbs anyway.  What you did was extremely dangerous.  There was a $100,000 fine.

The law was about to take its course when someone you don't even know stepped in and paid the fine on your behalf.  You are a very fortunate driver."

Now you can see that by telling you precisely what you did wrong first, actually makes the good news meaningful to you.  My good news to you isn't foolishness... and isn't offensive to you.  In fact, you are overwhelming thankful because of it.

If I don't first clearly bring reason and instruction to you that you clearly violated the law, then it would be offensive and foolishness to you.  But when you understand that you have broken the law than my good news will be good news indeed.

In the same way, if I tell you that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins it would be foolishness and offensive to you.  Foolishness to you because it won't make sense because you think you have broken any Laws.

Offensive to you because I am insinuating you're a sinner when you think that you're not.  After all, some say; "There are a lot more people out there who are worst than I am."

After all the Bible teaches us that "...the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness..." 1 Corinthians 1:18a
******* DON'T GIVE UP HERE*******

I'm going to take my time and follow in the footsteps of the Lord Jesus and it will make more sense to you.

I'm going to open up The Divine Law, The Ten Commandments to you to show you precisely what you've done wrong, why you are a sinner.  I'm going to show you that you've offended God by violating His Law and you are dead in your trespassed and sins.  Only then will YOU be convinced of the Law as a transgressor (James 2:9).

Once YOU understand you've broken the Law, then the Good News of the Gospel will not be foolishness, it will not be offensive to you.  It will be the power of God unto salvation for YOU.

Now read carefully the scriptures below

Romans 3:19

Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

God's Law will stop your own mouth from justifying yourself.  The Law shows that you truly are guilty before God, you're not alone the whole world is!

Romans 3:20
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

So God's Law will reveal to you, sin and what it is.  1 John 3:4 tells us sin IS the transgression of the law
Romans 7:7
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

(Have you ever lusted after someone, something or some experience?  Yes or No, be truthful to yourself.)

I'm guessing you really don't know what sin is, most people don't.  They have a good idea, but really, they don't know what sin truly is.

No one knows what sin really is except the Law teach it to them, only God's Law reveals to us what sin is.  "For whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin IS the transgression of the law." 1 John 3:4

Now read closely at Galatians 3:24
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

God's Law is what correctly teaches you what sin is, so that knowing what sin truly is, you might be justified by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.  Because " man is justified by the law in the sight of God." Galatians 3:11

The Law doesn't help you, it just leaves you helpless.  The Law doesn't justify you, it just leaves you guilty before the holy judgement of the Living God.

The true tragedy is this; The modern message used to attract you to Christ forsakes the Law of God.  Is without the capacity to convert your soul and without the capacity to drive you Christ.  You probably got the idea Jesus came to make your life better...that He came to give to you love, joy peace, fulfillment etc. right?

You see, modern evangelism forsakes the instruction of the "schoolmaster" - the Law, and uses "life enhancement" preaching to compel you to come to Christ.  The Gospel degenerated into "Jesus came to give you love, joy, peace, fulfillment and lasting happiness."

BELOW is a story to illustrate to you your need for understanding the truth,  This story will help you to open your heart to hear and receive the truth about sin, righteousness and judgement  (ref. John 16:7-11).

TWO DRIVERS each seated in their truck at a truck stop.  The first driver is giving a parachute and is told to "Put it on because it will improve your ride up the  icy mountain road."  He was skeptical at first and can't see how wearing a parachute would improve his ride.  After a while he decides try it on to see if what he was told was true.  So he put on the parachute.  The first thing he notices is the weight upon his shoulders and how difficult it is to sit upright in the truck.  However he consoles himself with the fact that he was told it would improve his ride, so he decides to give it a go.

As he waits he notices the other drivers laughing at him and began talking about him over the CB radio.  He began to feel embarrassed and with anger in his heart he takes the parachute off and throws it on the ground.

NOW THE SECOND DRIVER is given a parachute and is told; "Put it on because you will have to jump out of the truck when you get to the 5,000 ft. mountain cliff, your tandems will slide off the steep narrow icy mountain road and you must quickly jump out of your truck."

He doesn't feel the weight of the parachute upon the shoulders nor how difficult it is to sit upright.

He is consumed with thinking of what would happen to him if he had to jump out of the truck at the 5,000 foot cliff without the parachute.

Knowing he had to jump out of the truck and having a parachute gave him a deep rooted joy and appreciation with humility toward those who told him the truth about the steep narrow road at the cliff and gave to him the parachute.

This knowledge gave him the ability to withstand the mockery of the other drivers and a gratitude toward those who told him the truth.

The bottom line is this; I do not want to tell you that Jesus will improve your ride.  What I will tell you this; This story is an analogy of life. The truck is the symbol of your life, the cliff is the symbol your death.  The parachute is the Lord Jesus Christ.  YOU will have to jump out of the truck!  In real terms, you will die!  So, YOU must put on the parachute!  In other words, YOU must put on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved... and then, take up your cross and follow Him.

******** THE BOTTOM LINE ********

I'm not going to tell you that Jesus will improve your ride (ie. He will give you love, joy, peace, happiness, blessings, prosperity etc.).  Instead I am going to tell you that you will have to jump out of the truck!   Because "... it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" Hebrews 9:27.

When you truly understand the concequences of breaking God's Law, only then you will want to escape the wrathful judgment pronounced upon you right now which is to come.

I only want to be a faithful witness to you.  His day of wrath that will come, God righteous judgment (2 Peter 2:9).  God, through Jesus, is calling every man everywhere to repent (Matthew 4:17, Mark 2:17).  For He has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness (Acts 17:31).

The issue is one of righteousness not how happy you are.  If you are enjoying the pleasure of sin for a season (ref Hebrews 11:25) without the righteousness of Christ (ref. Romans 3:22 and others) you will perish in the Day of Wrath (Romans 2:5, Revelations 6:17).  Because "Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death." (Proverbs 11:4).

******* Answer These Questions *******

This will help you to understand what sin is.

Answer these questions truthfully and you will discover first, that you do agree with God.  And secondly, you that you are guilty of sin.

Have you ever told a lie?  It doesn't matter if it is a so called 'white lie', a lie is a lie.

Yes or No.

Have you ever taken anything that did not belong to you?   The value of it does not matter.  If you have ever taken a paperclip or pencil for example, did it belong to you?  Yes or No.  The value of the thing stolen doesn't matter.  Yes or No.

Have you ever committed adultery?  Yes or No.  Jesus said it you look with lust then you have committed adultery Matthew 5:28.

Above are just three of the Ten Commandments, God's Law, which you have broken and you are not the only person who ever broke any of the Commandments, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23.

If you told a lie then you are a liar, if you took something that doesn't belong to you then you are a thief, if you lusted in your heart then you are an adulterer (or an adulteress).

This is the way The Lord looks at all who brakes His Commandments.

The Law of God reveals the sin nature within man and everyone who ever lived, is living, and shall live will brake God's Law. This is because of man's nature.  Sin is what is in every man, woman, and child.

The result of sin is death as written in the Bible, "For the wages of sin is death;..." Romans 6:23

Would you agree with God and say that you have broken His Holy Laws?

Would you repent right now and confess your sins to Him.

Would you confess Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to free you from sin?

Would call upon His name right now and receive His free gift of eternal life?

(After all, He is life eternal)
